I am very proud of my father for serving in the army during the Korean War. He went to basic training one month after he and my mother were married, and then to Korea. He served as an officer’s aide and supply distributor. My father always remembers voting by absentee ballot while serving in Korea... the only time he did that. Every other time he voted in person and was proud to do so. He is 90 years old and proud to be voting in this election. God bless all our veterans!

My son, Mikail enlisted into the US Navy right out of high school. At his bootcamp graduation his chief spoke highly of him, and I was so proud to see him perform in the ceremony! At age 18 he served in the Gulf War. His ship, the USS Midway assisted with the evacuation of Americans from the Philippines during the Mt Pinatubo volcanic eruption. During his career he visited 26 countries, his experiences inspired his 11 years younger brother to enlist in the Navy the following 11 years after he graduated from high school, as well . It was a spectacular sight to see the USS Midway come to port in San Diego with all of the sailors lined around the ship, I was so proud to know that my son was one of them, and he served his country well!
