WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?
Ohio is a great place to do business because we are so centrally located. We are never too far from 10 major metropolitan areas. We also have access to major highways. Shipping and international freight lanes are only 2-3 days away from major deepwater ports. Since we are from Northern Ohio, Lake Erie is a “Great Lake” to live by.
DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:
It all started back in the early 1900’s in Columbus with Frank Beverly serving homes with gas ranges and fireplace inserts. By 1919, Beverly was serving the food service industry with gas bake ovens and rotisseries. In 1934 the company incorporated as the Peerless Stove and Mfg. Co. Inc. To prove our test of time, 2 units built back in 1919 are still produced today.
In the 1930’s, many products were added, including a line of commercial restaurant ranges and pizza ovens.
In 1942 owner Clark Beverly moved Peerless to Sandusky Ohio, where it remains today. On the shores of Lake Erie, Peerless still produces a complete line of bake, roast and pizza ovens for the food service industry. Peerless also serves industry and recently added a new line of electric ovens to our arsenal of products.
In 1968 Clark sold the business to James and Barbara Huntley. Jim was very involved with industry standards committees for the gas and appliance industries. Jim and Barb were active in the business until 1998 when they sold the business to Bryan Huntley. Bryan is now the 4th owner of Peerless and a 4th generation family business. Peerless is one of the few remaining family businesses in the food service equipment business.
Peerless Ovens are shipped all over the world to bakeries, pizzerias and industrial facilities. “We produce a great product at a great price” says Huntley.
