Manufacturing in Ohio has a huge impact on our state’s economy. In fact, with the Buckeye State ranking third in the country in manufacturing, the Ohio General Assembly recently dedicated October as Manufacturing Month in Ohio. To help highlight the importance of these businesses, this month’s Ohio Business Profile theme is “Made in Ohio.”
Nidec Minster Corporation, in Auglaize County, is a world-class supplier of material forming equipment and services. Founded in 1896, it is one of the longest continually operating manufacturers in Ohio. Shoot-A-Way, in Wyandot County, has been supplying basketball shooting aides to coaches and players around the world. Their shooting machines, known as “The Gun”, are used by nearly every college in the country and the USA Olympic basketball team. Milacron LLC, in Hamilton County, is a world leader in the development of plastics processing machinery. Founded in 1884, they currently employ nearly 1,000 workers in southwest Ohio. Classic Metal Roofing Systems, in Miami County, manufactures residential and commercial metal roof systems that help increase a home’s beauty, value and energy efficiency. You have probably seen their roofs on Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen and Dunkin’ Donuts stores around the country.
These Ohio-based companies show that Americans still make high-quality and innovative products we use every day. Leadership, dedication and hard work- all things they help prove are “Made in Ohio.”
