WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?
The southeast corner of Ohio - the Appalachia foothills - is a green gem which makes for a beautiful setting to work and live. Ohio has a very strong, supportive and enthusiastic "farm to table" community. Networking with our local organic restaurants, businesses and organizations such as ACENET (Appalachian Center for Economic Networks), Athens Hills CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), Farm to Fork in Athens County, Athens Farmers Market (one of Ohio’s premier year round markets) and OMPA (Ohio Maple Producers) makes it possible and pleasurable to produce and market maple syrup in Ohio.
DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:
Sticky Pete’s Pure Maple Syrup is a 2,000-tap maple sugaring operation in southeastern Ohio in the foothills of the Appalachians, started in 1996 by John Berry and Laura McManus and their faithful dog Pete. Our label is a tribute to Pete, who carefully watched over the process, from gathering sap in the woods in early spring, to boiling in the sugarhouse, to bottling our delicious golden amber syrup on its way to the market. Our maple syrup is handcrafted and we are committed to making your day naturally sweeter!
