EDWINS Leadership and Restaurant Institute

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?

I love the diversity of the city I serve as well as going home every night with the knowledge that we work every day to provide a stronger YES to those in our society that have been told no for far too long. I love watching our students reach for and then attain their full potential.

DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:

EDWINS Leadership and Restaurant Institute was founded, by Brandon Chrostowski, for the purpose of delivering job training, culinary education, life skills and wrap-around support to men and women who have been recently released from prison. Their students are trained in all aspects of fine dining hospitality and use those acquired skills in a multitude of restaurants around the city of Cleveland. To date, their program has graduated more than 200 students and the recidivism rate of their graduates is less than 1 percent. EDWINS Leadership and Restaurant Institute has been recognized as a national model for successful reentry. The program has been covered by The New York Times, CNN and The New Yorker magazine. Additionally, the opening of the restaurant was the subject of the documentary film, Knife Skills, which was nominated for an Academy Award.
