DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:

Professional baseball in Toledo got started in 1883 with the Blue Stockings. The Toledo Mud Hens nickname dates back to 1896 and the current Mud Hens organization has been in operation since 1965. The team has been the Triple-A of the Detroit Tigers for more than 30 years. The Mud Hens gained world-wide attention through the popular TV show M*A*S*H and Corporal Klinger, played by Toledo native Jamie Farr. Notable coaches and players to wear a Mud Hens uniform include:  Casey Stengel, Jim Thorpe, Kirby Puckett as well as Minor League Home Run King Mike Hessman.
