WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?
The variety of customers that walk through our doors. Some are local, some from Ohio, other parts of the United States and all countries of the world. They all love Columbus and they all love Katzinger's.
DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:
Katzinger’s Delicatessen opened in 1984 in a small storefront in German Village with a made up “family” name, a teensy kitchen, 32 seats and the best corned beef and rye bread in town. With lots of hard work, a small dedicated staff and a loyal clientele, by 1989 they were able to purchase the building and expand their dining and kitchen space. Their menu grew from 26 sandwiches to over 60. Today, they continue to focus on quality and to make the vast majority of their foods in house.
In 1994, they were honored by a visit from President Clinton (#59 on their sandwich board), accompanied by Senator Glenn and (then) Senator Biden. Nothing increases business like a visit from a sitting U.S. President!
Over their 30+ years they are grateful for the many times they have been named “Best Deli”, “Best Sandwich” and “Best Reuben.” In 2011 the Food Network featured Katzinger’s on “The Best Thing I Ever Ate” with their pastrami Reuben and homemade chicken noodle soup. In 2014, they opened Katzinger’s Little Deli in the Columbus North Market where they feature a scaled down version of their German Village flagship operation.
In their 30 plus years, they’re most proud of the relationships they have established with their guests, their community and the City of Columbus.
