Gemco Aviation Services, Inc

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?

Ohio is extremely rich in aviation. Great customer base. No sales tax on maintenance and parts services for aircraft now makes Ohio extremely competitive in the aviation market.

DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:

Gemco Aviation began business in 1977. In 1989 Gemco purchased the Youngstown Elser Metro Airport in North Lima, Ohio. The airport, while licensed, slipped into disarray over the years prior to our acquiring it. There were only five based aircraft here. After obtaining all of the proper zoning approvals we proceeded to aggressively develop and market the facility. We installed a new 4000-foot paved runway, runway lights, fuel farm, T-hangars, maintenance hangar, ramps, taxiways, and driveways. This transformed the facility into a model general aviation facility for the surrounding area. We continue to be the nation’s foremost authority for the restoration, preservation, and technical information for the "Staggerwing Beech" and we are locally recognized for our uncompromising quality for any aircraft that we maintain. Our quality is second to none. Gemco participates in various aviation charitable operations such as the "Angel Flight" operations and the EAA Young Eagles programs.
