My Very Own Blanket

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?

Starting our grass roots charity in Ohio has given us a solid foundation to grow and expand our operations not only throughout Ohio for 19 years, but also nationwide and into Canada! Headquartered in Westerville, our volunteer base continues to grow from student led groups, to seniors 103 years young, to disabled adults, to working programs in four Ohio prison systems.

DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:

My Very Own Blanket is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to comforting children in the foster care system, by giving each child a blanket they can call their very own!

In 1999, Founder and CEO Jessica (Hollins) Rudolph, began an effort out of her home to knit a blanket for a child in the foster care system. She has since grown and developed the organization to donate over 100,000 blankets to children in care!

Providing a very tangible object that has a profound effect on the life of a child, this blanket becomes a safe source of comfort they can hold onto when everything else around them is changing.

Through hundreds of volunteers from students, to seniors, 103 years young, disabled adults, large and small businesses, to inmates in four Ohio prison systems, they work to give love and hope to children, who desperately need to know they are indeed lovable.
