WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?
The greater Columbus community strives to end homelessness and believes in the power of education. The community is very supportive of our work to make sure that no child in Columbus is homeless.
DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:
The Homeless Families Foundation (HFF) educates and nurtures children while empowering families to achieve stable housing and self-sufficiency. HFF uses a housing first model that moves families into permanent housing while continuing case management. They also provide educational programing through their Dowd Education Center, a fully licensed afterschool and summer program for children grades kindergarten through middle school. In 2014, HFF served 254 families, including 497 children, and 89% had successful family outcomes. The Dowd Education Center served 104 children by improving their behavior, reading, math, and development skills.
