Tender Mercies

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?

Tender Mercies appreciates the State of Ohio’s commitment to affordable housing and to ensuring that a safety net exists for its most vulnerable citizens. We are extremely fortunate to fulfill our mission in Cincinnati, a City with a rich history of philanthropy and of civic and corporate responsibility.

DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:

Tender Mercies transforms lives of homeless adults with mental illness by providing security, dignity and community in a place they call home. Security means a housing environment where residents’ personal safety is a priority. Dignity means a housing environment that allows residents to develop personal, social and economic strengths. Community translates as a sense of belonging, family and inclusion.

They achieve their mission by maintaining 150 units of permanent supportive housing in 6 buildings in Over-the-Rhine. To address the root causes of homelessness, this program helps the residents improve their quality of life and ability to become independent with safe, dignified housing and support services. The overall goal of the supportive housing program is to provide security, dignity and community.
