The Wilds

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?

By bringing an exotic safari adventure to Ohio, the Wilds offers an experience that our visitors may not otherwise be able to enjoy. Its Ohio location also provides the Wilds with an opportunity to make a real difference in local conservation, while collaborating with the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:

The Wilds is a private, non-profit safari park that combines cutting-edge conservation science with animal adventures. Spanning 9,154 acres (about 14 square miles) in Southeast Ohio, the Wilds is the largest wildlife conservation center for endangered species in North America.

The Wilds’ natural, open-range grasslands are home to about 340 rare and endangered animals, including cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, camels, ostriches, antelopes, wild horses, red-crowned cranes, painted dogs, bison, several species of deer, takin, and more.

Guests can get a closer view of the animals by participating in a variety of safari options, including tours by vehicle, zipline, boat, or horseback. Additionally, guests can meet animal management specialists and see the Wilds at work during a Wildside Tour. Overnight stays are available at the Wilds’ luxury cabins or adult-only yurts.
Beyond offering memorable adventures, the Wilds is committed to conservation projects. Nearly 600 animals – including rhinos, cheetahs, and oryx, as well as native animals important to Ohio’s ecosystem – have been successfully bred through the managed animal program.

Education is also at the core of the Wilds’ mission. Engaging courses and camps for young students and scouts, as well as college interns and scientists, are offered at this one-of-a-kind conservation center.
