Food for Thought

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?

Ohio has creative, thoughtful, industrious people. In our work, feeding Toledo in a thoughtful way, we need to be in a place like this. We have growers, farmers, chefs, philanthropists.. all working together. We do better in Ohio!

DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:

Food for Thought started in 2007 with a few people handing out sack lunches as a way to foster community and create conversations. From the beginning it was more about the thought than about the food. Over the past 7 years as our work as evolved we now are handing out 350 lunches each weekend in Toledo's central city and enjoying the conversations and relationships that come along with it! In addition, our thoughtful approach to feeing people stretched into food pantries. We operate 24 mobile food pantries over 3 counties each month. Over 1400 families each month visit our "Mobile Pantry" (a 16 ft. trailer bringing fresh food and other supplemental groceries to a host location) and are able to choose for themselves what they take home to their families. From free lunches to choice pantries we are dedicated to feeding the Toledo Region in a thoughtful way.
