Ohio Secretary of State's Office to Honor Two Northeast Ohio Businesses

COLUMBUS – Seeds of Literacy in Cleveland and Oberlin Heritage Center in Oberlin have been selected by Secretary of State Jon Husted as two of August’s featured businesses for the Ohio Business Profile program.

A representative from the Secretary of State’s office will visit both Seeds of Literacy and Oberlin Heritage Center on Tuesday to present certificates highlighting this accomplishment. As part of the Ohio Business Profile program, Secretary Husted declared August as “Nonprofit Businesses” Month to highlight nonprofit entities across the state.

Seeds of Literacy provides free basic education and high school equivalency preparation to adults in the area. Nearly 1,000 students per year are provided one-on-one instruction and empowered toward success.

Oberlin Heritage Center is both a local historical society and a museum complex of historic buildings. The center views all of Oberlin as an important resource and learning laboratory for visitors near and far.
