Ohio Secretary of State's Office to Honor the Akron RubberDucks

COLUMBUS – The Akron RubberDucks in Akron have been selected by Secretary of State Jon Husted as one of July’s featured sports teams for the Ohio Business Profile Program.

A representative from the Secretary of State’s office will visit the Akron RubberDucks to present them with a certificate highlighting this accomplishment. As part of the Ohio Business Profile program, Secretary Husted declared July as “Game On Ohio” Month to highlight the major and minor league sports teams that are doing business in Ohio.

The Akron RubberDucks are a Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. In 2013, the franchise underwent a name change as the Akron Aeros became the Akron RubberDucks to connect with the city’s long-standing history with the rubber industry.
