COLUMBUS– Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted today announced that Lucas County Board of Elections member James Hartley is required to attend a hearing at the Secretary of State’s Office in Columbus later this week. Mark Landes, a partner at Isaac Wiles, will preside over the hearing.

Secretary Husted suspended Mr. Hartley on March 28, 2017, following “an emerging pattern of irresponsible behavior.” You can read Secretary Husted’s full letter of suspension of Mr. Hartley by clicking here.
As hearing officer, Mr. Landes will oversee the proceedings and present his recommendations to Secretary Husted, who will then make the final decision as to what further action, if any, is warranted.
