Secretary of State’s Office to Honor Franklin County Precinct Election Official

COLUMBUS –  A representative of Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted will be on-site at the Franklin County Board of Elections to present a Precinct Election Official (PEO) with the Secretary of State’s “Red Carpet Award,” which honors poll workers for their dedication to running smooth elections in their communities.

Bev Truax was chosen for her dedication, even in the face of personal tragedy. She and her husband signed up as poll workers together, but the day before the election, Bev’s husband Herb passed away. When asked if she wanted a replacement to take her spot, Bev decided to fulfill the commitment herself saying, “I made a promise to serve, and I just needed to do it.”
