Secretary Husted to Convene Ohio’s Members of the 2016 Electoral College

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted will convene a meeting of the 54th Electoral College in the Senate Chamber of the Ohio Statehouse at noon on December 19, 2016. During the meeting, each Ohio elector will cast their votes, one for President and one for Vice President of the United States.  

It is required that the Electoral College convene on the first Monday following the second Wednesday of December following a Presidential Election. 

Due to limited space, media outlets are required to RSVP and are limited to one reporter. Please RSVP by Friday, December 16, 2016.

Pursuant to Section 3505.40 of the Ohio Revised Code, Electoral College Members from Ohio are bound to cast their vote for the winner of the state’s popular vote.
