Statement on Voter Roll Maintenance Ruling from Secretary Husted

COLUMBUS - The United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio, Eastern Division this evening issued a remedy in Case No. 2:16-cv-303, the Ohio A. Phillip Randolph Institute v. Jon Husted in his capacity as the Ohio Secretary of State. The following may be directly attributed to Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted:

“Our main concern was to protect the integrity of the election by not having to reinstate deceased voters, those who moved out of state, or are otherwise ineligible. We will fully comply with the judge’s order to count votes of people who remain eligible in their original county and continue to focus on the important work of administering a smooth election.”
