OHIO: Deadline to Register to Vote is One Week Away

Secretary Husted outlines key dates & deadlines for upcoming Presidential Election.

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted today reminded voters that the deadline to register to vote in the November 8, 2016 Presidential Election is one week away, on October 11th. Important dates to remember for this election are outlined below.

1,804 local issues, including levies for police and fire services as well as school funding, will appear on ballots across Ohio. A comprehensive list of local questions can be downloaded here.

A full list of candidates for President and Vice President, U.S. Senator, Justices of the Ohio Supreme Court, Members of Congress, Members of the Ohio General Assembly, Judges of the Court of Appeals and Members of the State Board of Education is available for download by clicking here.

Candidates for local office are certified by the individual county boards of elections. Contact information for the 88 county boards is available online here.

Register to Vote or Update Your Address
The deadline to register to vote in the 2016 Presidential Election is one week away, on October 11, 2016 (30 days before the election). Voter registration forms are available at MyOhioVote.com. Voters who need to update their address also have until October 11th and can use the Online Change of Address System available at MyOhioVote.com.

Absentee Voting by Mail and In-Person All Ohio voters may begin voting on October 12, 2016 (first day after the close of registration) both in-person and by mail-in absentee ballot.
