Federal Court Upholds Ohio’s Voter Roll Maintenance Program

COLUMBUSOhio Secretary of State Jon Husted today released the following statement in response to the ruling issued by Judge Smith in Case No. 2:16-cv-303, the Ohio A. Philip Randolph Institute, et al. v. Jon Husted in his official capacity as the Ohio Secretary of State. The case challenged the voter roll maintenance policy Ohio has undertaken since the 1990s, under both Republican and Democratic Secretaries of State.

While today’s ruling reaffirms that the process Ohio has used for over two decades is constitutional and in line with state and federal law, the best news is that we can put another wasteful lawsuit behind us and focus on the important work of running elections in Ohio.”
