COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted will deliver his annual address to local election officials from across Ohio during their conference in Cleveland tomorrow. The Secretary will discuss the final steps the state will take ahead of the 2016 Presidential General Election in November to ensure statewide readiness for the high-profile race in one of the nation’s most hotly-contested swing states.
Among the things Secretary Husted will discuss will be the state’s planned effort to reach out to every eligible, but unregistered Ohio voter ahead of the election to encourage them to register to vote and participate this fall. The elections chief will also highlight the statewide absentee ballot mailing that will encourage more Ohioans to take part in early voting.
Approximately 650 election officials from around Ohio will be in attendance.
