Election Advisory From Secretary of State Husted
More than 123,000 Ohio voters have requested absentee ballots
COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted today announced that with just over two weeks remaining before the November 3rd General Election, more than 123,000 voters have already requested an absentee ballot and more than 13,000 absentee ballots have been cast.
2015 General Election by the Numbers (As of October 10, 2015)
- 123,141 – Number of absentee ballot applications received as of Friday.
- 13,415 – Number of absentee ballots cast.
- 10,947 – Absentee ballots cast in person.
- 2,468 – Absentee ballots cast by mail.
In total, 332,543 voters cast absentee ballots in 2013 and 680,656 did so in 2011. There were no statewide questions on the ballot in 2013.
In this election, Ohio voters will decide three statewide issues and more than 1,700 local issues.
Absentee voting runs through Monday, November 2, 2015. Ohio voters have the option to vote from home by mail 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and have more than 200 hours to vote early in-person over the course of the four week absentee voting period, which began on October 6, 2015.
