Statement from Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted
COLUMBUS – The United States District Court Southern District of Ohio Eastern Division today rendered a decision in Case Number 2:13-cv-953, the Libertarian Party of Ohio, et al., v. Jon Husted, in his official capacity as Secretary of State. The case attempted to challenge Senate Bill 193, which was approved by the General Assembly in 2013. The following may be attributed directly to Secretary of State Jon Husted:
“With respect to how we run elections in Ohio, today is more affirmation that we follow rules and that the rules we follow are fair.
“This decision upholds the standards political parties must live up to in order to operate in Ohio and makes certain the rules going forward are clear. The rules are clear, the rules are fair, it's time to move on.”
