Statement from Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted
COLUMBUS – Regarding today’s introduction of Senate Bill 26 by State Senator Larry Obhof (R-Medina) that seeks to implement a 21% cut in business filing fees, which mirrors priority legislation (House Bill 3) introduced in the Ohio House last week, all of the following may be attributed to Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted:
“I want to thank Senator Obhof for helping us cut the cost of starting a business in Ohio."
“Over the past four years the Secretary of State’s Office has been focused on improving customer service, which has led to record business filings and increased revenue. Coupled with our commitment of doing more with less, this has resulted in a success dividend that we want to share with our customers by making it cheaper to do business in Ohio.
“I am hopeful members of the General Assembly will pass this proposal, which will further bolster Ohio’s appeal to entrepreneurs looking to start a company.”
