Secretary of State Jon Husted Announces Meeting of Ohio Board of Voting Machine Examiners

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted today announced that the Ohio Board of Voting Machine Examiners will meet on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Secretary of State’s Office located at 180 East Broad St., 15th Floor, Columbus, Ohio, 43215. 

The agenda includes:

  • Review of the application for certification of the Unity 3.4.1.0 Voting System, a series of modifications to the Unity 3.4.0.0 Voting System (submitted by Election Systems & Software [ES&S]), and examination of the voting system for certification and approval for use in Ohio elections. 
  • Review of the application for certification of the EVS 5.2.0.0 Voting System, a series of modifications to the EVS 5.0.0.0 Voting System (submitted by Election Systems & Software [ES&S]) and examination of the voting system for certification and approval for use in Ohio elections. 
  • Review and examination of the LiveBallot marking device (submitted by Democracy Live) for the approval of the device for use as authorized by Ohio Revised Code §3506.04. 
  • Review of the application for certification of the Precinct Central Touchpad electronic pollbook (submitted by Tenex Software Solutions, Inc.) and examination of the pollbook for certification and approval for use in Ohio elections.

This meeting of the Board is open to the public.

Board Members:  Dale Fellows (Board of Elections Member, Lake County), Joyce Kale-Pesta (Director, Mahoning County Board of Elections), William Anthony, Jr. (Director, Franklin County Board of Elections) and Jeffrey A. Matthews (Director, Stark County Board of Elections).
