Secretary Husted to Visit Warren JFK High School for Democracy Day

COLUMBUS- Secretary of State Jon Husted will be traveling to Warren JFK High School, Monday, March 25, 2013, to participate in their Democracy Day celebration. Democracy Day celebrates the 26th Amendment, which allowed 18 year olds the right to vote.  Secretary Husted hopes this event will help increase the number of 18-year-olds who are registered to vote in Ohio.

Democracy Day will provide high school seniors with the information needed to become an active Ohio voter. As part of this outreach effort, Secretary Husted is visiting high schools around the state to educate and inform students on the importance of voting with his Grads Vote program.

April 8, 2013 is the deadline to register to vote for the May 7, 2013 Primary Election. Individuals may register if they will be 18 on or before Election Day. Registration forms and additional information are available online at MyOhioVote.com.
