2012 OHIO CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORTING DEADLINES

2011 ANNUAL January 31, 2012 to disclose activity through December 31, 2011
PRE-PRIMARY February 23, 2012 to disclose activity through February 15, 2012
POST-PRIMARY April 13, 2012 to disclose activity through April 6, 2012
SEMIANNUAL July 31, 2012 to disclose activity through June 30, 2012
PRE-GENERAL October 25, 2012 to disclose activity through October 17, 2012
POST-GENERAL December 14, 2012 to disclose activity through December 7, 2012
2012 ANNUAL January 31, 2013 to disclose activity through December 31, 2012
Federal political committees that are registered with and file at the Federal Election Commission must file a copy of any report containing Ohio non-federal disbursements – i.e. contributions to local or statewide candidates – with the Ohio Secretary of State. These copies must be postmarked no later than the date due of the report according to the committee's federal filing schedule. See R.C. 3517.107 for more details
The above deadlines are based on the primary and general election dates of March 6, 2012 and November 6, 2012, respectively. Campaign finance activity related to special election dates or municipal primary elections on different dates may require reporting on other dates. Filing entities which submit reports to a county board of elections (BOE) are encouraged to contact the BOE for special election dates and campaign finance deadlines not included on this calendar.
ADDITIONAL FILING REQUIREMENTS FOR STATEWIDE CANDIDATES Monthly reports are due of any statewide, not General Assembly, candidate campaign committee to report contributions received during the months of July, August and September. Monthly reports are independent of any other report. The data listed in these reports are not repeated in any subsequent report.
