The August 7th Special Election is next week! Voters will have the opportunity to weigh in on various school and local tax levies, bond issues and charter amendments. You can find a list of what issues will be on the ballot in your county via the Secretary of State’s website, or you can contact your county board of elections to determine if there is an issue in your local community. There is still time to request a ballot for the special election: If you are already registered to vote, the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) form must be received by your county board of elections office no later than noon on August 4, 2012. It is recommended you send your FPCA as soon as possible to allow adequate time for your county board to process and mail your ballot and for you to complete and return the ballot by mail. You can fill out an FPCA here. Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot: If you have submitted a properly completed FPCA form, you already should have received or soon will be receiving your absentee ballot. If you do not receive your ballot and it is close to Election Day, you can download a Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot online here. Remember: Military and Overseas Voters can opt to receive their ballots as a fax, email or hard-copy in regular mail. Due to the short amount of time remaining before the August 7th Special Election, you may want to have your ballot sent to you electronically. What’s on the Ballot: Need info on the issues and candidates? Go here or contact our military liaison, Avi Zaffini at (614) 995.1697 or OMV@OhioSecretaryofState.gov. Tracking Your Ballot: If you’ve already voted your ballot and mailed it back to your local board of elections, and you want to track it, go here and enter your name and the pin assigned to you by your local board of elections. You can also access information and voting materials from www.OhioMilitaryVotes.com Virtual Vote Sticker: Let your friends and family know you participated in the August Special Election by displaying a virtual Ohio voting sticker on your Facebook wall or by sharing it with your Twitter followers.
