Dear Military and Overseas Voters,
On behalf of Ohio Secretary of State
Jon Husted, thank you for your brave
and tireless service to our country.
If you find yourself away from home this Election Day, we want to work with you in order to make your voting experience as hassle free as possible. To that end, I write you today with important news and updates from our office regarding Election Day, November 8, 2011.
Requesting Your Absentee Ballot
If you are serving on active duty and have not yet requested your absentee ballot, there is still time do so. A completed Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) returned by mail, fax or e-mail not later than 12 noon November 5, 2011 will allow you to receive an absentee ballot.
Attached to this email is a PDF titled “FPCA”. If you would like to request an absentee ballot for this election, please complete, sign and mail the form using the attached PDF titled “Return Envelope PDF” which can be printed onto an envelope and sent back to our office postage paid OR you may fax it to our office at (614) 485-7573 OR send it via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. You may receive your ballot via mail, fax or electronically—simply indicate the method by which you prefer to receive your ballot when you complete the FPCA.

Casting Your Ballot
We want to be sure you have access to the information you need to cast your ballot. To learn more about the statewide issues appearing on your ballot, please visit here.
If you would like information on local issues, I encourage you to contact your county board of elections Further, please do not forget you can email or message us on Facebook with any additional questions.
Tracking Your Ballot
For those of you who have already completed and returned your FPCA form to our office, you should already have received or should be receiving your ballot in the coming days.
Also, please keep in mind that your ballot contains a tracking number that allows you to follow it and ensure your vote is counted. You may visit here and enter your tracking number and last name to login and track your ballot.
Remember, you are not able to fax or email your completed ballot. The ballot must be printed, signed and returned via regular mail by U.S. Postal Service or another delivery service such as UPS or FedEx or in person. Your ballot must arrive at your local board office by the close of polls on Election Day if delivered in person. If returned by mail, your ballot shall be submitted for mailing not later than 12:01 a.m. on the date of the election at the place where you complete your ballot. It must arrive at the board of elections office on or before the 10th day after the election.
Finally, I encourage you to share information and updates about the Military Ready-to-Vote program with fellow members of the military who may be interested in learning more about registering and casting votes in this election and those to come. I will make sure they receive the materials they need to participate in the democratic process regardless of which state they call home.
