Secretary of State Husted’s Office to Hold Open Office Hours Across the State in November
Regional liaisons for the Secretary of State’s office will be in 14 counties around Ohio including Morgan, Washington, Montgomery, Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Adams, Highland, Pike, Scioto, Warren, Lawrence, Clinton, and Summit.
Secretary of State Husted Announces Ballot Board Meeting
As required by Ohio law, the Ballot Board will meet to determine whether a proposed initiated statute regarding Medicaid consists of only one proposed law. The Ballot Board has 10 days from the date the certification is received from the attorney general to complete this task.
Secretary of State Husted Received Petitions for Referendum on House Bill 7
Earlier this afternoon, petitioners seeking a referendum on House Bill 7 purported filing 433,884 signatures with Secretary of State Jon Husted’s office. The Secretary of State’s office must now determine if petitioners have gathered the required number of valid signatures – 231,148 or six percent of the total vote cast for Governor in 2010. Secretary Husted directed county boards of election to complete the validation of signatures by Friday, September 20, 2013. The issue would appear on the November 2014 ballot provided petitioners have met the constitutional requirements.
Secretary of State Husted Honors Charity Betts of Montgomery County
During an event yesterday at the Montgomery County Board of Elections, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted presented Charity Betts, a polling location supervisor for the county, with a Precinct Election Official (PEO) Red Carpet Award. Ms. Betts received the PEO award for her outstanding service and dedication to the Ohio Election process.

Earlier today U.S. District Court Judge George Smith ordered (see attached) the dismissal of a pending lawsuit regarding putting a referendum on House Bill 194 (129th General Assembly) on the ballot.

In addition to making voter registration forms and election information available, regional representatives will be on hand to answer questions and distribute materials to those interested in learning more about the other functions of the office such as the business services division and initiatives including the Ohio Business Profile and Military Ready-to-Vote program.
Secretary Husted to Visit Jefferson County, Tour Economic Development Hubs
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted will travel to Jefferson County tomorrow, Thursday, April 18, 2013, to visit local businesses and an area community college, which are all key to economic growth in the region. Scheduled visits will include Eastern Gateway Community College, True Value Hardware and Trinity Medical Center.
