SECRETARY OF STATE HUSTED ANNOUNCES BALLOT BOARD MEETING
COLUMBUS – Secretary of State Jon Husted has called a meeting of the Ohio Ballot Board for Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Finan Finance Hearing Room of the Ohio Statehouse, located on the first floor of the Senate Building at 1 Capitol Square, Columbus, Ohio, 43215.
The Ballot Board will meet to consider and certify ballot language for the proposed constitutional amendment on redistricting. Board members will also hear public comment on the ballot language. Additionally, the board will direct the means by which the Secretary of State shall disseminate information concerning the proposed constitutional amendment to the voters and on contracting for publication in newspapers of general circulation in each county in the state for ballot language, explanations, and arguments regarding the proposed constitutional amendment.
Secretary Husted serves as chair of the Ohio Ballot Board and oversees the board’s proceedings. Other members of the Ballot Board include: Fred Strahorn, Vice Chair; State Senator Keith Faber; Mark Griffin; and William N. Morgan. Ballot Board meetings are open to the public.
