SECRETARY OF STATE HUSTED HONORS LORAIN COUNTY PRECINCT ELECTIONS OFFICIALS RANDALL & CHARLOTTE WALTON

Secretary Husted, right, presents Randall and Charlotte Walton with a commendation at the Lorain County Board of Elections on Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
COLUMBUS – Secretary of State Jon Husted recently presented Randall and Charlotte Walton, two long-time Lorain County precinct elections officials (PEO), with a commendation for their years of service and dedication. The Walton’s have nearly 20 years of combined service as PEOs, Charlotte with 10 years and Randall with eight years.
“Randall and Charlotte Walton are true public servants,” Secretary Husted said. “I thank them for their service and dedication to their local community and our state.”
Mr. and Mrs. Walton, who are both retired, have served as PEOs for the Lorain County Board of Elections in the same vote center. Randall serves as the Republican Judge One for one precinct, while Charlotte serves as the Democratic Presiding Judge of another precinct.
In addition to their Election Day duties, the Walton’s have also volunteered to assist the residents at 10 area nursing homes to complete their ballots on behalf of the Board of Elections. For more than six years, Randall and Charlotte have taken the time to drive to each of the facilities and with a sense of warmth and civic duty worked with the residents to ensure they could properly cast their ballots.
