Secretary of State Jon Husted will be traveling to Horizon Science Academy tomorrow, Thursday, May 3, 2012, to continue his 2012 Grads Vote Tour. Secretary Husted hopes this tour will help increase the number of 18-year-olds who are registered to vote in Ohio.

Secretary of State Husted Announces Addition to Upcoming Ballot Board Meeting
Secretary of State Jon Husted today announced that in addition to determining if a proposed constitutional amendment regarding redistricting reform contains one issue, the Ohio Ballot Board will also meet later this week to decide if a proposed constitutional amendment regarding marriage is a single issue.

Secretary of State Husted Announces Ballot Board Meeting
As required by Ohio law, the Ballot Board will meet to determine whether a proposed constitutional amendment regarding redistricting reform consists of more than one amendment. The Ballot Board has 10 days from the date the certification is received from the attorney general to complete this task.

Secretary of State Husted Honors Northwest Ohio Board of Elections Officials Tom Wolfrum and Dan Wagner
Secretary of State Jon Husted recently presented Tom Wolfrum and Dan Wagner, two devoted Defiance County precinct elections officials (PEO) with the “Red Carpet Award.” Presented quarterly, the award recognizes the outstanding service and dedication of PEOs to their local communities. Mr. Wolfrum and Mr. Wagner have nearly 13 years of combined service at the polls, Wolfrum with seven years and Wagner with six years.

Ballot Board Decides Labor Organization Amendment Is Single Issue
Petitioners will now need to collect 385,253 signatures, which is equal to 10 percent of the total vote cast for governor in 2010, to place the measure on the ballot. As part of the total number of signatures needed, petitioners must also collect signatures from at least 44 of Ohio’s 88 counties, and within each of those counties, collect enough signatures equal to five percent of the total vote cast for governor in the most recent gubernatorial election, 2010.
