SECRETARY OF STATE HUSTED ANNOUNCES WINNER OF ELECT YOUR STICKER
Nearly 60,000 votes cast overall in effort to select new “I Voted Today” sticker
COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted today announced the winning design, as selected by the voters, for the next “I Voted Today” sticker. Following a close race, and having received 38 percent of the vote with 22,572 votes, the selected design features a twist on the popular “I heart NY” logo, swapping out the heart image for the state of Ohio as in, “I heart voting.”
“While voting is serious business, selecting our state’s next “I Voted Today” sticker provided an outreach opportunity to get both younger and older Ohioans excited about the voting process,” Secretary Husted said. “The Election Day sticker is worn as a badge of honor by many and I wanted Ohioans to have the chance to voice their opinion and help pick our new design.”
Launched in May 2011, the Elect Your Sticker initiative was designed to allow Ohioans of all ages help choose the next “I Voted Today” sticker. Intended to be a fun, interactive way for the public to participate, the program also served as a learning experience and way to engage future voters.
Overall, 59,272 votes were cast, which includes both online votes and some paper ballots submitted by students who participated in the contest as a group. The vote totals, including percentage of the vote earned, for the remaining sticker designs are below.

“While I am pleased with the turnout and support we’ve had for this initiative, I hope voters have even more enthusiasm on Election Day and come out to collect their new sticker,” Secretary Husted said.
The selected sticker design will be distributed to voters on Election Day this November 8, 2011.
