What do you like about doing business in Ohio?Properly training and mentoring our clientele base made up of student-athletes and adults looking to keep their athletic edge well past their playing days. As a result they continue their athletic careers in college and beyond showing how Ohio athletes are among the elite in the United States.
Description of business: We opened in October of 2009. Our facility boasts a 60-yard artificial grass field, a weight room with everything any athlete could need from old school tractor tires to Prowler sleds, and of course Olympic free weights. Our training staff are all certified and very knowledgeable in the needs of today's athletes.
We are co-owned by Mike Vrabel, AJ Hawk, Lance Moore, Jody Shelly, and Bobby Carpenter. At D1 we pride ourselves in being the place for the athlete. Our members go from age seven to 70, and range from little league baseball players to NFL Veterans. In 2011, we had our first D1 Combine Training Class and we had eight guys get drafted or signed to NFL teams.
Our training programs run on eight-week cycles. At the end of every training cycle we have a testing night. This gives us a way to gauge our athlete's improvement as well as give them goals to break each cycle. Our facility's field is able to be completely netted off so sports like soccer, lacrosse, baseball, etc. can play without the ball leaving the field area. We also we have 3 batting cages. We have hosted combines, indoor football practices, soccer leagues, and even I-9 Sports.
