Description of business: Hightowers Petroleum Co. (HPC) was founded in 1983 by Steve Hightower in Middletown, Ohio as an outgrowth of a janitorial business began by his father, Yudell Hightower, in 1956. The Company's first contract was to provide fuel for the entire state of Ohio. Today the company has grown to a national company selling over 100 million gallons of fuel to customers like General Motors, Kroger, Chrysler, AK Steel and Duke Energy.
CEO Steve Hightower has received two presidential appointments to the National Parks Foundation and The National Petroleum Council. Additionally the company actively gives back to the Ohio Community as Founders of the Southwest Ohio Cares Mentoring Circle, an organization dedicated to recruiting and placing mentors.
