Description of business: The Little Exchange, located at 45 Park Avenue, is a nonprofit, fine-gift shop whose proceeds benefit the Dayton Children’s Hospital. The Little Exchange is celebrating its 62nd year and since its inception has donated over $1.5 million to the hospital. In the past few years, the shop completed pledges of $15,000 to The Care and Comfort Program which offers support for terminally-ill children and $125,000 for support of the Family Resource Center. The shop currently provides ongoing support of the Family Resource Center. At its annual meeting in September 2013, the shop donated $20,000 to the hospital.
Over 100 volunteers staff the Little Exchange and a Board of Trustees oversees all major decisions. The Little Exchange stocks beautiful baby and toddler clothing, unique wedding gifts, one of a kind home décor, gourmet kitchen items, jewelry and other unusual gifts. The shop carries such fine lines as VIETRI, Mariposa and Beatrice Ball.
