Description of business:
In 1870, Louis C. Graeter began making hand-made ice cream at the base of Sycamore Hill in Cincinnati. A tremendous success, the business grew steadily for many years, passing to each successive generation of the Graeter family.
Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, Graeter's French Pot Ice Cream, chocolate confections and fresh baked goods are a beloved tradition in the Queen City, faithfully following the original century-old recipes with high-quality, all-natural ingredients and methods of production.
Our perfection of the traditional, hand-packed French Pot process is the true magic behind the making Graeter's, considered by many to be the world's finest ice cream. By creating just two gallons at a time, Graeter's achieves an irresistible creaminess that's completely unlike any other ice cream.
Graeter's is also famous for the massive chunks of gourmet chocolate found in our signature chip flavors. We create these unique chips by pouring our own specially prepared liquid chocolate into the French Pot just as the ice cream is finishing. The result is nothing short of spectacular, velvety smooth chunks of sweet chocolate in every bite.
Graeter's is the ultimate treat for those who expect only the very best!
