Minister License

In 1976, the licensing process was transferred from the County Probate Court to the Office of the Secretary of State. Authorization to solemnize marriages in Ohio is issued by this office to any ordained or licensed minister of any religious society or congregation requesting the license. About 300 minister license applications, both from Ohio and out-of-state are processed per month.
